There is a girl standing in the field. Now this is most definitely a field, and not a meadow because a meadow is light, warm, and flowing. The girl had no trace of those feelings while she stood in the field.
The girl is facing west. Now she is most definitely facing west because the sun sets in the west and she feels something leaving, perhaps the sun, or maybe the man she loves.
She stands in a dress to her knees with flats. Flats because sneakers would mean she could run. She can't run for long in flats.
